About IRNPQEO

The Integrated Research Network in Perinatality of Quebec and Eastern Ontario (IRNPQEO) is a network of researchers working in a number of disciplines that focus particularly on issues related to Mother and Child health.

The IRNPQEO is based on the premise that the perinatal period is the period during which a child’s future health and development are established.

The IRNPQEO is interested in the health of mothers, fathers and children and the effects of the perinatal period on child health and development.

Through transdisciplinary collaboration, the IRNPQEO aims to broaden our understanding of perinatal health, and subsequently, contribute to the application of knowledge in collaboration with health care providers and those responsible for developing social policy.

THE IRNPQEO has created a large Biobank of specimens and data collected for future research on the health of mothers and their children. About 85% of the 3D (Design, Develop, Discover) study participants consented to be part of this Biobank.  In the Researchers section you will find a summary of the projects that have been conducted, using the Biobank material.

Any researcher interested in accessing the IRNPQEO Biobank and Database to conduct research on the health of mothers and children can contact the Biobank Manager, for more information on the application procedure: (+1) 514-345-4931, ext. 3633.
